Search tree option
If you have modules with many entities, we recommend you to use the setting 'Use without folders(best performance)' in your WorkPoint Express setting.
This makes WorkPoint Express load the least amount of information to display. There are 3 options to chose from which are:
- Use without folders (best performance).
This doesn't show any folders in the search tree - Use with folders.
This shows a + in front of all document libraries, whether if has folders or not. - Do not use.
Checks if there are relevant data in a document library, to determine if a + should be displayed.
Client caching
Caching can be set individual modules.
If client caching is enabled on a business module, WorkPoint Express will load the module list into your pc's memory. The cache is then dropped when you exit the program WorkPoint Express is running in, and will be loaded again when a program with WorkPoint Express is loaded and a module with caching is selected.
When caching is disabled, WorkPoint Express will search for your items with a maximum of 20 results in your solution when you enter a search term, instead of showing entities from a module before a search term is entered.
If you close programs running WorkPoint Express, and a module have many entities, disable caching may improve performance.
WorkPoint 365
Generally if you have more than 2000 entities on a module and you feel that WorkPoint Express is loading slow, disabling caching may improve performance. This number is dependent on your pc's hardware.
Note: You have to deactivate for all modules in a parent-child relation for this to take effect.
- Go to the WorkPoint Administration
- Go to the Client Settings page for a module
- Enable or disable caching and press save on the page.
WorkPoint Server
Generally if you have more than 5000 entities on a module and you feel that WorkPoint Express is loading slow, disabling caching may improve performance. This number is dependent on your pc's hardware.
Note: You have to deactivate for all modules in a parent-child relation for this to take effect.
To enable or disable caching on a module go to:
Site settings -> WorkPoint Settings -> Business modules -> Client caching
