How to remove Warning message "Some files can harm your computer"

PROBLEM:

You may encounter following warning message, when trying to open various documents from WorkPoint:

Some files can harm your computer. If the file information below looks suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source, do not open the file.

Nogle filer kan beskadige computeren. Hvis filoplysningerne nedenfor ser mistænkelige ud, eller hvis du ikke har fuld tillid til kilden, skal du ikke åbne filen.

CAUSE:

This warning message appears due to your Internet Explorer security settings. If the site you are visiting is placed in the security zone 'Local Intranet', you will encounter this warning message.

 

SOLUTION:

To get rid of this warning message you need to configure your Internet Explorer security settings.

NOTE! if you are working from a terminal server, you may not have the permission to modify security settings. Please contact your Network administrator.

  • Click Start / Control Panel / Internet Options
  • Click Security tab.
  • Click Trusted sites
  • Click Sites button.
  • Enter the WorkPoint URL e.g. http://workpoint
  • Click Add (Unckeck the 'Require server verification' before adding sites that are not HTTPS)
  • Click Close
  • Click Custom level
  • Scroll Down and find User Authentication->Logon->Automatic logon with current user name and password
  • Click OK
  • Click OK
