WorkPoint Express Scripted Installation

 

The support of scripted installation is based on standard Windows Installer command-line installation. There are four custom MSI properties, which are used:

  • WPACCESSGROUP
    Used to define an Active Directory group who are allowed to load WorkPoint Express. Members of this AD group, when signed in to a computer will get the WorkPoint Express Add In loaded in their Office programs.
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\VestConsult\WorkPointExpress\ActiveDirectoryGroupUsedForAccessControl

  • WPREGSERVICEURL
    Used to define the central web service URL
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\VestConsult\WorkPointExpress\DataStoreInfo_WebServiceUrl

  • WPINSTALLJOURNALIZEFLAG
    WorkPoint EMM specific feature (default not installed)

  • SOLUTIONID
    ID used if you are running a datastore hostet in Microsoft Azure
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\VestConsult\WorkPointExpress\SolutionID

The following examples are how a scripted installation could look like for both the MSI and EXE installation. 

MSI :
msiexec /I "WorkPoint Express.msi" /qb WPINSTALLJOURNALIZEFLAG=1 WPACCESSGROUP=DOMAIN\WPEGROUP SOLUTIONID=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 WPREGSERVICEURL=https://wpedatastore.azurewebsites.net
