1. Introduction
With this approach the WorkPoint Express Add-in can be deployed automatically to all or select users within your organization.
Before proceeding, there are a couple of points to note:
- To deploy an Office add-in to multiple users via the Microsoft 365 admin center, you need to have either the Global Administrator or Exchange Administrator role¹(https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/manage/manage-deployment-of-add-ins?view=o365-worldwide)
- After deploying the add-in, there can be a delay (up to 6-8 hours) before the Add-In will appear in the selected Users Outlook profiles.
For the steps in this article, you will need the Express365 RC manifest file, which you can download from here.
2. Deployment
The following steps can be used to deploy the add-in to select users:
- In the Microsoft Admin Center, in the left-hand navigation expand "Settings" and select "Integrated Apps".
- On the Integrated apps page, click on the Upload Custom Apps link.
- In the "Deploy New App" wizard, choose the App Type "Office Add-In", then click "Choose File" and browse to the location you have saved your Manifest file and select it.
- Once the selected Manifest file has been validated, click Next.
Optional: The Add Users section allows you to restrict which users will receive the WorkPoint Express 365 Add-In in their Outlook profiles.
For testing and preview purposes, WorkPoint recommends that you nominate a select Entra Group containing only the users that should receive the Add-In. In the example just below, the "WorkPoint Licensed Users" group has been selected:
Next, you must Accept the Permission Requests of the WorkPoint Express 365 Add-In by clicking on the "Accept Permission" button.
This grants WorkPoint Express 365 add-in the rights to access WorkPoint Services and Outlook Mail data on behalf of the current user.
- Click the "Accept permissions" button.

- In the sign-in form, select your administrator account. As previously mentioned, which account must have either the Global Administrator or Exchange Administrator.

- Review the permissions and click the "Accept" button.
Once the permissions have been accepted, the page should show a confirmation message:
- Once Permissions have been accepted, click on Next
- On the Finish screen, click "Finish deployment".
Note that the Wizard indicates it can take up to 6 hours before the Add-In is available in users' outlook profiles.
You can now close the deployment wizard by clicking the "Done" button.
After a suitable delay (to allow propagation of the Add-In to the selected users' profiles), refer to the support article "Getting started with WorkPoint Express 365" for information about how to activate and start using WorkPoint Express 365 with your Outlook mail and WorkPoint solution.
