1. Introduction
While the side-load approach is quicker for individual testing users, in production or corporate tenants it is common for tenant administrators to disable the option that allows users to install custom add-ins.
In the steps below, we highlight how you can tell if Custom Add-Ins are disabled in your tenant.
If this is the case, you may need to discuss with your tenant's Exchange Administrator or Global Admin to follow the managed deployment via the Microsoft Admin Portal option where they can restrict the add in to an individual or a select group of users.
For the steps in this article, you will need the Express365 RC manifest file, which you can download from here.
2. Side-Load WorkPoint Express 365 using Outlook in the Web Browser
The easiest way to side-load the office add-in is to access your Outlook mailbox via the Web Browser.
Once loaded into your profile, the Add-in will be available in both the Web Browser and Outlook desktop applications.
In your Browser, open https://outlook.office.com and if prompted, authenticate the user in the same tenant as your WorkPoint solution.
You should then be able to see your user's Email inbox in the browser:
In the browser address-bar, paste or type the URL shortcut https://aka.ms/olksideload:

This should open the Office Store / Add-In panel above your Outlook Profile / Mailbox as shown below:
- In the Add-Ins for Outlook dialog select the "My Add-Ins" tab from the left-hand navigation and look for the section "Custom Addins":
If you do not see the "Custom addins" section in the dialog, it is because your administrator has blocked Custom Office add-ins in your tenant. You will need to contact your administrator and discuss either enabling Custom Addins for a select users or using Microsoft Admin Portal to deploy the Add-in on your behalf.
- Click on the "+ Add a custom add-in" link and select "Add from File"
- Use the Open dialog to browse to and select the Express365 RC manifest file, which you can download from here.
- Accept the Warning and select "Install".
The Express Add-In should now be visible in the Custom Add-Ins section:
Please note, as there are distinct manifest files for each ring for WorkPoint solutions (production, release-candidate, testing etc.) the icon and title of the WorkPoint Express 365 Add-in may be slightly different to that shown above.
From here, please proceed to the Getting Started with WorkPoint Express 365 article for instructions on how to enable and begin using the WorkPoint Express 365 Add-in with your Outlook mail and WorkPoint solution.
