This step should be available from version 4.28.1
1. Introduction
In this process configuration example, we will create a simple process that can be used to upload files and folders to a WorkPoint solution.
The example will make use of the following process step:
• Upload files and folders
This step is used to configure a process that allows users to upload file(s) and folder(s) directly into a WorkPoint solution.
2. Configuration
Create a new User Process and give it a suitable name.
Once inside the process, add the Upload files and folders step.
When the step has been added, it will appear in the process flow, and its properties can be configured from the Step Properties panel on the right-hand side.
Fill out the Business module, Entity, and List fields.
In this example, the process is configured to run from within a Project entity’s Documents library.
Once these values have been set, save the process as a draft and publish it.
The process is now ready for the next step.
3. End User Guide
After running the process, the end user is presented with the following interface inside the solution:
From here, the user can drag and drop one or more files, or use the Upload button to browse for files to upload.
Once all required files have been uploaded, select Complete to finish the process.
The uploaded files and folders will then appear in the library configured during process setup.
Notes and limitations
When uploading files using this process, standard SharePoint file size limitations still apply.
If a file exceeds the allowed size, the upload will fail, even if the process itself is configured correctly.
Here is an example of a folder upload, where the upload status shows that 6/6 files have been successfully uploaded.
By selecting Open, it is possible to view the contents of the uploaded folder.
When Open is selected, a breadcrumb navigation is displayed, making it easier to navigate between files and folders.
It is also possible to remove files or folders from the upload within this step.
To do so, select the Delete icon next to the file or folder you want to remove.
This ensures that only the intended files or folders are uploaded, reducing the need to remove content after the upload has been completed..
4. MyTools
The process is now ready to be added via My Tools in the WorkPoint solution.
