1. Introduction
Stages can be represented in different view modes in the Modern UI version of WorkPoint; Full, History, or Compact mode. You can read more about Stage Management here.
Full mode is the default Stage Rendering Mode and displays the entire stage gate model on the site page. This is exemplified in the red box in the image below:
The Compact Rendering Mode, only the previous stages that the entity has been in, the current stage that the entity is in, and the next stage in the model are displayed on the site page.
2. End User Guide
On the following example, the Compact rendering mode is used to display the stage model of the entity:
For reference, the full stage model used for this entity is the following:
In this example, because there are more than one possible next stage for the entity to transition into, the "Change stage" button appears instead of the next step. To change the stage of the entity, the "Change stage" button can be clicked:
1. Click the "Change stage" button either in the Stage band or in the MyTools panel (if such a button exists). In this example, we click the "Change stage" button in the stage band:
2. Select which stage you wish to transition to. In this example, even though "Analysis" is technically step 2 in the stage model, we will skip Analysis and go to Planning:
3. The stage band now shows the previous stage the entity has been in (Idea), the current stage (Planning) and the next step in the model (Active). Note that the skipped Analysis step is not shown in the stage band.
3. Notes
Note that, if you are not able to use the Compact rendering mode, you might need to update Modern UI on your solution.
You can find a guide to updating Modern UI in this article.
