1. Introduction
The Entity Details webpart in WorkPoint allows you to display metadata fields from an entity in a webpart on a dashboard page.
Traditionally, entity details were shown in the business module list in which the entity existed, as well as the entity details panel on the entity site of one existed:
The same information can now be shown in a webpart on an entity page, as shown in the following image:
2. Requirements
The Entity Details webpart is available in Modern UI only and requires an Enterprise license.
3. Configuration
The Entity Details webpart can be added to e.g. a dashboard page of companies, clients, or projects.
The webpart is added in the same way as any other webpart which is added to a page:
- On the page on which the you want to add the webpart, click the "Edit" button to edit the page.
- Hover over the location where you wish to add the webpart and click the "+" button to add a new webpart.
- Search for "workpoint" and select the "WorkPoint 365 - Entity Details" webpart.
- Once the webpart is added to the page, click either the edit icon or the "Configure web part" button to edit the webpart.
- In the title field you can select a title which is displayed in the top of the webpart. If you do not specify a title, the title line on the webpart is hidden.
- The "Max characters" slider allows you to define a maximum of characters an entity field can show. If you e.g. select 50 characters, and the description field of the entity is shown and contains more than 50 characters, the description will be cut short.
- The "Multi Selector" drop down menu can be used to select which fields from the entity that should be shown in the webpart. You can select multiple column in this drop down menu. Once a column is selected, it appears in the "Ordered Items" list just below the multi selector:
- In the "Ordered Items" list, the arrows can be used to re-order the items in the list. If the "Web" column should be shown as the third element in the webpart, you can click the up-arrow until that column is the third in the list:
As an alternative to clicking the up- and down arrows to re-order items in the Ordered Items list, you can drag and drop the list items into the desired position.
Note that the "Ordered Items" list is hidden if no columns are selected in the multi selector.
- In the "Show Headers" section, you can enable or disable the headers of the columns in the webpart. If disabled, only the column data is shown for that column in the webpart. An example of not showing the header of the "Address 2" column is shown in the following image:
- Click the "Republish" button to publish the page with the webpart.
