1. Introduction
The Task webpart can be used to display tasks from the WorkPoint system.
The webpart is configured to be associated with a specific task list, which it will then display information from.
The tasks shown by the webpart depend on the view selected for the webpart. These views are created on the task lists themselves, and can then be selected when configuring the webpart.
The Task Overview webpart can help create an overview of e.g. late tasks, such that users in a more straight-forward way can be informed if actions need to be taken.
The webpart can be configured to display only as a list, or display as a list with a graphical filter panel.
An example is shown in the following image:

In this example, we have five tasks on a project entity on the solution.
Two of the tasks are already completed (denoted by the checkmarks), two of them are not yet started, and one is in progress.
The colored boxes above the list of tasks are the graphical filter panel. Clicking one of the task stages from the panel toggles whether tasks from that stage should be shown in the list. Inactive stages are shown as slightly transparent boxes, and active stages are shown as opaque circles. The numbers inside the boxes represent the number of tasks in that stage.
These numbers depend on the view selected for the webpart, i.e. the numbers in the boxes relates to how many tasks from the selected view are in the specific stages.
An example is shown in the following image:

In this example, tasks which are in the "Completed" stage have been filtered from the list. Note that all other stages are represented as opaque boxes in the filter panel, while the filtered stage is transparent. Also note that the webpart displays the "3/5 tasks are shown" text to let the user know that 2 tasks have been filtered.
Please note that only stages which contain tasks can be filtered.

As mentioned, the Task Overview webpart is used to display tasks from task lists. The webpart includes a variety of elements and filters which can be activated. These are explained in the following image:
Note that the elements present on your Task Overview webpart is dependent on the webpart configuration. Some of the elements shown in the following image, e.g. the "Overdue tasks" button or the view selector drop down menu, may not exist in your webpart.
- The title of the webpart is shown in the top left. This title can be configured by an administrator. Clicking the title takes you to Task list.
- If the filter panel is enabled for the webpart, it is displayed just below the title. You can click each of the boxes to toggle whether items in the respective stage is to be shown in the list of the webpart. In this example, the webpart displays tasks which are in the "Not started", "In progress" and "Completed" stages.
- Users can click the title of each task to edit that tasks data. An example could be to change the task's stage, progress, or assignee.
- As an alternative to editing the task's data to set it's stage to "Completed", users can simply click the checkbox to set a task to the "Completed" stage. If this is done, the "Progress" is also set to 100%.
- The red warning symbol can be clicked to toggle only showing overdue tasks. An example of this is shown in the following image:

- The "Show only my tasks" button can be clicked to filter out all tasks which are not assigned to the currently logged in user. If this is checked, you will only see your own tasks from the list in the webpart. An example of this when logged in with the user "Edward Dean" is shown in the following image:

- The view selector drop down menu can be used to select which view from the task list the webpart should use to display items. All views that exist on the task list selected for the webpart is selectable from the drop down. An example is shown in the following image:

- In the bottom, the current number of tasks out of the total number of tasks is shown. If no filter is applied to the webpart, this number will display "x/x tasks are shown", where x is the total number of tasks returned by the selected view. An example where a filter is applied, and only 3 out of 5 items are shown can be seen in the image below:
