The "Unlock entity" step unlocks entities which have previously been locked using the "Lock entity" step.
The "Lock entity" step can lock entities using two different lock types. entities can either be locked by declaring them as record, or by removing add/edit/delete permissions from people and groups in the entity.
If an entity is unlocked using record management, the Unlock entity step will simply undeclare the entity as record.
If instead the entity was locked by removing permissions, the current security settings and rules will be inherited to the entity. This mean that in case security rules for entities on the business module have changed since the entity was locked, permissions will not necessarily be the same when the entity is unlocked.
The following image shows a process which includes the "Unlock entity" step:
This process enables users to change the stage of an entity and unlock it, after which an e-mail is sent to e.g. the project manager or other relevant people.
Step specific properties
Select the method of unlocking the entity.
Record: Use record management to lock the entity
