WorkPoint Automate - Copy or move documents

The Copy or move documents step is used for copying or moving documents from one library to another.

It is used in collaboration with e.g. an "Entity Input Form" step, in order to create a process during which the meta data of the entity can be edited and saved.

An example of such a setup could look like the following:

Parameters

Parameter name Type Required Description
Options
Mode String Yes Use this field to select if this step should be used to move or copy entities.
Naming conflict behavior String Yes Use this field to define what happens if a document with the same name already exists in the target list. Options are:
  • Fail: the operation is cancelled. 
  • Replace: The copied or moved document(s) replaces the existing one. 
  • Rename: The user can rename the copied or moved document(s).
Ignore version history Boolean No Use this field to select whether version history should follow the document(s) being copied or moved.
Allow smaller version limit on destination Boolean No Use this field to set whether to allow the destination library to have a smaller version limit.
Target
Target Business Module String Yes Use this field to select the business module of the entity on which to copy or move documents.
Target Business Module Entity String Yes Use this field to define the ID of the target business module entity for document(s) being copied or moved.
Target list String Yes Use this field to define the target list in which to place the document(s) being copied or moved. Typically, a selected list from a "Select target library and folder" step is used as input for this field.
Target folder String No Use this field to define the target folder in which to place the document(s) being copied or moved. Typically if needed, a selected folder from a "Select target library and folder" step is used as input for this field.
